Determined to be a Catalyst for Systemic Change
I was fortunate to have been elected to the 116th Congress as part of a historically diverse freshman class. We are the first class ever to take our oath of office during a government shutdown.
As such, we are determined to be a catalyst for systemic change and get to the root of the dysfunction here in Washington.
That is why I am a proud cosponsor of H.R. 1, historic legislation to curb the influence of money in politics and raise ethical standards for those who serve in elected office. Congress should work for the people, not special interests.
